Ifb 06-2025 Mowing Services Of Electric Substations

Background
The Town of Front Royal is seeking qualified contractors licensed to operate in Virginia to provide mowing services for four Electric Substations located within the town limits. This initiative aims to maintain the aesthetic and operational integrity of these facilities as part of the Town's commitment to effective energy service management.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for mowing services at four Electric Substations, specifically:
- Happy Creek at 1201 Shenandoah Shores Rd.
- Kendrick Lane at 380 Kendrick Ln.
- Manassas at 610 Manassas Ave.
- Riverton at 551 Strasburg Rd.

The total area to be mowed is approximately 77,919 square feet. Services include:
- Mowing to maintain a turf height of 4 inches during the growing season (May 1 - October 31).
- Mowing shall occur no less than two times per month, evenly spaced with no more than ten business days between visits.
- Trimming grass within 24 hours following mowing, ensuring it matches the height of adjacent turf.
- Edging along sidewalks and paved surfaces immediately after mowing.
- Removal of all grass clippings and debris from sidewalks and paved areas on the same day as mowing.
- Compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations including safety standards and proper equipment usage.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon final signature and will last for a period of twelve (12) months, with options for renewal for three additional one-year periods based on performance and Town needs.

Place of Performance
All services will be performed at four Electric Substations located in Front Royal, Virginia.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have a minimum of three years’ experience providing similar services, possess all necessary licenses and permits, and ensure that all personnel are bonded and insured. Bidders must also submit a complete list of equipment with their bid, excluding 'flail' mowers.
