Hedgefield Waterline Replacement Project

Background
The Hedgefield Waterline Replacement Project is initiated by the Wytheville Redevelopment & Housing Authority, located at 170 Hedgefield Lane, Wytheville, Virginia. The project aims to replace existing water lines at the Hedgefield Terrace Apartments to improve water service and infrastructure. The contract is prepared by Rinker Design Associates, based in Galax, Virginia.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:

1. Mobilization including costs for bonds, insurance, general permits, and equipment movement.

2. Erosion and sediment control measures as required by plans and authorized officials.

3. Installation of a 6” Water Line (PVC C-900 DR-14 or Ductile Iron Class 350 WP) - 2,500 linear feet.

4. Installation of a 2” Water Line (PVC SDR-17 or HDPE DR-9) - 142 linear feet.

5. Installation of various valves including:
- 6” Tapping Valve & Sleeve (2 units)
- 6” Gate Valve (7 units)
- 2” Gate Valve (1 unit)

6. Installation of Fire Hydrant Assemblies (6 units).

7. Installation of a 2” Blowoff Valve Assembly (1 unit).

8. Removal of existing structures such as gate valve boxes (8 units) and fire hydrant assemblies (4 units).

9. Service line installations including:
- Service Line Splitter Box (28 units)
- 1-1/2” Service Line from Main to Splitter Box (800 linear feet)

10. Asphalt pavement repair and concrete sidewalk/curb & gutter repair as specified.

Period of Performance
The work is expected to be substantially completed within the timeframe specified in the Agreement following the award of the contract.

Place of Performance
The project will be performed at Hedgefield Terrace Apartments located at 170 Hedgefield Lane, Wytheville, Virginia.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide evidence of authority to do business in Virginia or a written covenant to obtain such authority prior to acceptance of bids. Bidders must also provide their state contractor license number or a covenant to obtain it within the time for acceptance of bids.
