GMU A/E Services for JC Student Space Renovation Phase 1

Background
George Mason University (GMU) is seeking proposals for Architectural and Engineering (A/E) services for the renovation of student spaces at the Fairfax Campus. The goal of this contract is to enhance the functionality and aesthetics of student areas, aligning with GMU's mission to provide a supportive and engaging environment for its students.

Work Details
The selected firm will be responsible for providing comprehensive A/E services including but not limited to: conducting site assessments, developing design concepts, preparing construction documents, and assisting with project management throughout the renovation process. Specific tasks include:
- Assessing existing conditions and identifying areas for improvement.
- Developing architectural designs that meet the needs of students while adhering to university standards.
- Coordinating with university stakeholders to ensure alignment with institutional goals.
- Preparing detailed drawings and specifications for construction.
- Providing oversight during the construction phase to ensure compliance with design intent.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract is expected to span approximately 12 months from the date of award, including design, documentation, and oversight phases.

Place of Performance
The work will primarily be performed at George Mason University's Fairfax Campus located in Fairfax, Virginia.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must demonstrate experience in similar projects involving educational facilities. Firms should possess relevant licenses and certifications as required by the Commonwealth of Virginia. Participation from Micro and Small businesses is encouraged as part of the proposal.
