Gateway Old Town Connector Forcemain Project

Background
The Gateway Old Town Connector Forcemain Project is issued by the Amherst County Service Authority, which is responsible for providing public utility services in Amherst County, Virginia. The goal of this project is to replace and rehabilitate existing public utilities, specifically focusing on the construction of a new sanitary sewer forcemain and gravity sewer to enhance the infrastructure in the area.

Work Details
The project involves the construction of approximately 1,800 linear feet (LF) of sanitary sewer forcemain and approximately 100 LF of gravity sewer within the right-of-way of Route 210. Specific tasks include:

- Installation of various types of pipes including:
- 625 LF of 6” C900 Pipe
- 1200 LF of 6” SDR 11 Pipe
- 110 LF of 10” SDR 35 Pipe
- 110 LF of 12” Steel Casing

- Installation of appurtenances such as:
- 1 each of a 6” Plug Valve
- 1 each Air Release Valve

- Construction of a:
- 48” Diameter Sanitary Manhole with Frame & Cover

- Additional work includes:
- Asphalt Patching (130 square yards)
- Silt Fence installation (75 LF)

- Other tasks include Construction Entrance, Clearing & Grubbing, Seeding & Erosion Control (ESC), Traffic Control, and Mobilization.

Period of Performance
The work is expected to be substantially completed by a date specified in the Agreement following the bid acceptance. The exact timeline will be determined based on the contractor's proposal and subsequent agreement with the Owner.

Place of Performance
The project will be performed within the right-of-way along Route 210 in Amherst County, Virginia.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with federal requirements including Davis-Bacon Act provisions, American Iron and Steel requirements, and Buy America Build America (BABA) Act requirements. Bidders are also required to submit evidence of their qualifications, including a list of proposed subcontractors and suppliers, proof of authority to do business in Virginia, and compliance statements as necessary depending on bid amounts.
