Feminine Hygiene Tampons & Sanitary Pads

Background
The Commonwealth of Virginia, Department of General Services (DGS), Division of Purchases and Supplies (DPS) is issuing this solicitation to establish a term contract with a qualified vendor for the provision of Feminine Hygiene Products. The goal is to ensure timely deliveries to the Virginia Distribution Center located at 2400 Riley Ridge Road, Sandston, VA 23150.

Work Details
The contractor will provide Feminine Hygiene Products including:

1. Tampons - Regular: Blend of cotton and rayon absorbent material with removal cord, cardboard applicator, biodegradable and flushable, individually wrapped, bulk pack of 500 per case. Approximate annual usage: 600 cases. Prequalified brands include Premier Care, Bodyform AMT-500, Rostam Tampons #11003, HOSPECO MTB500 or VDC approved equivalent.

2. Tampons - Super: Same specifications as regular tampons but with a gross weight per case of 7.04 pounds and approximate annual usage of 600 cases. Prequalified brands include Premier Care, Bodyform AMT-500S, Albaad Super Tampons #11005, HOSPECO MTB500S or VDC approved equivalent.

3. Sanitary Napkin - Maxi Pad, Super Absorbency with Wings: Length between 17cm - 25cm; packed 12 individually wrapped napkins per bag and 16 bags per case (192 each). Gross weight per case: 7 lbs; approximate annual usage: 500 cases. Prequalified brands include Health Care Products/Preference #16012, Amercare, Amerfresh AF-192-W.

4. Sanitary Napkin - Maxi Pad, Long Super Heavy Absorbency with Wings: Length up to 35cm; packed 14 individually wrapped napkins per bag and 12 bags per case (168 each). Approximate annual usage: 900 cases. Prequalified brands include First Quality/Freshtimes #864498, Amercare, Amerfresh AF-168-Super, HOSPECO #AF168SUPER or VDC approved equivalent.

Minimum order quantity for shipment is set at 5000 lbs.

Period of Performance
The initial term of the contract will be for two (2) years from the date of award with three (3) additional optional one (1) year periods.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at the Virginia Distribution Center located at 2400 Riley Ridge Road, Sandston, VA.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be experienced vendors that routinely stock and distribute feminine hygiene products. They must comply with specific product specifications and provide bid samples upon request. Bidders are also required to submit a Small Business Subcontracting Plan if applicable.
