Electrical Services for the Louisa County Water Authority WA-26-01

Background
The County of Louisa, Virginia, on behalf of the Louisa County Water Authority (LCWA), is seeking qualified electrical contractors to provide electrical service work on an 'as needed' basis. The goal of this contract is to ensure that the LCWA has access to reliable electrical services for its facilities, which may include scheduled and emergency work. The LCWA reserves the right to award contracts to multiple firms based on their ability to meet the County's needs.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary tools, manpower, and equipment for electrical projects and repairs at LCWA facilities, including pumping stations, wells, and treatment plants. Services required may include but are not limited to:

- Routine maintenance and emergency repairs of electrical systems.
- Familiarity with major electrical equipment used in water supply and wastewater treatment.
- Stocking service trucks with essential parts such as relays, breakers (120/240V and 30-480V), starters, timers, and other necessary components.
- Ability to respond to emergency work orders within two hours and regular work orders within five days.
- Knowledge in pump wiring connections, motor control systems (including brands like Allen Bradley), auxiliary generators, transfer switches, and the construction of control panels.

Additionally, the contractor must hold a Master Electrician’s License and a current Contractor’s Business License.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence on September 13, 2025, and conclude on September 12, 2026. There is an option for two successive one-year renewals upon mutual agreement.

Place of Performance
All work will be performed within the geographic boundaries of Louisa County, Virginia.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must hold a Master Electrician’s License and a current Contractor’s Business License. They should have experience working with surface water plants producing 0.500 MGD or higher or wastewater treatment plants classified as class III or higher. Contractors must also be able to respond within two hours for emergency service calls at any time of day or night. Additionally, bidders should provide proof of insurance coverage that includes liability insurance naming the County as an additional insured.
