E491 - Radio/Signal Shop Roof Replacement

Background
The City of Portsmouth, Virginia is seeking qualified contractors to replace the severely deteriorated metal panel roof at the Radio-Signal Shop located at the Frederick Boulevard Operations Compound.
The goal of this contract is to install a new PVC roof system that meets the city's standards and requirements.

Work Details
The work includes the removal and disposal of existing roofing materials such as roof flashing, edge, fascia, counterflashing, cap metals, gutters, downspouts, fasteners, pipe boots, skylight panels, and structurally unsound metal roofing panels.
The contractor will install new metal roofing panels along with a new 80 MIL PVC wind-vented roof system and all necessary appurtenances.
Additional construction services include providing all materials, labor, equipment, tools, excavation, bypass pumping, dewatering, right-of-way restoration, erosion and sediment control measures, traffic control, and all required testing for proper installation.
The contractor must also obtain all necessary permits and inspections prior to commencing work.

Period of Performance
The contractor is expected to begin work within 30 calendar days of receiving the notice of award and must complete all work within 90 calendar days from the notice to proceed.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at the Radio-Signal Shop located at 2015 Frederick Boulevard, Portsmouth, VA 23704.
