Dublin Cemetery 2025 Fertilize and Weed Control Applications

Background
The Commonwealth of Virginia, through the Department of Veterans Services, is seeking quotes for the application of weed/crabgrass control and fertilizer at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery located in Dublin, VA.

The goal of this contract is to maintain the cemetery grounds by ensuring healthy turf through proper fertilization and weed control applications.

Work Details
The contractor will provide two main applications:

1) An immediate need for granular weed/crabgrass control and granular fertilizer scheduled no later than April 11, 2025, covering approximately 753,600 sq ft of turf. The treatment must use a commercial spreader by a certified applicator with granular fertilizer (19-0-5) combined with granular 0.29% prodiamine herbicide (or equivalent), applying a minimum of 4.0 lbs. per 1,000 square feet. Total product required is approximately 3,014 lbs. The contractor must also inspect for other weed types during this application and provide recommendations for the follow-up treatment.

2) A follow-up liquid post-emergent weed control application scheduled no later than May 9, 2025, also covering approximately 753,600 sq ft of turf using a liquid post-emergent broadleaf weed control product (Escalade2 or equivalent) at a rate of 2.5 pints per acre. The contractor is responsible for obtaining signatures from cemetery staff after each service and submitting completed Fertilizer Applications Records after each treatment.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed in two phases: the first application must be completed by April 11, 2025, and the follow-up application must be completed by May 9, 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery located at 5550 Bagging Plant Road, Dublin, VA 24084.
