DOCW-756-24-10--Hazardous Medical Waste, Hazardous & Non-Hazardous Pharmaceutical Waste Pickup & Disposal for Western Region Facilities

Background
The Commonwealth of Virginia, Department of Corrections, Western Region invites qualified vendors to submit bids to provide Hazardous Medical Waste & Hazardous Pharmaceutical Waste Pickup & Disposal Services for the Western Region Institutions, Field Units, and Community Corrections Alternative Program Centers (CCAPs), all located in the Western Region, during normal business hours of 8am-4pm Monday-Friday.

Work Details
Service Term: Service Term shall start at 12:00 a.m. on 06/01/2024 to conclude at 11:59 p.m. on 05/31/2025.
Frequency of Service: (per bid form).
Hazardous Medical Waste/Regulated Medical Waste includes, but is not limited to, needles, lancets, other sharps, and medical supplies which may or may not come into contact with human blood.
Providing all labor, supervision, equipment, tools, transportation, licensing permits (as needed), materials & supplies to service and maintain number of disposable containers shown on bid form.
Container sizes will vary by location (see bid form).
Service shall include: pickup and disposal of containers with red liners meeting required tinsel strengths for regulated medical waste, instructions and education in proper packaging both orally and in writing through an operational protocol, and transportation of waste to a Federal and State approved facility for procurement and documentation by manifest shall be provided as proof of legal treatment.
On Call Service with no adding of stop fees or environmental fees shall be included.
A Certificate of Insurance will be required of successful vendor.

Period of Performance
The contract period will be from June 1, 2024 through May 31, 2025 and may be renewable in accordance with section V, paragraph E.

Western Region Institutions, Field Units, and Community Corrections Alternative Program Centers (CCAPs), all located in the Western Region
