DOC-26-029 Janitorial Services - Probation & Parole District 24 - Farmville

Background
The Department of Corrections (DOC) of the Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking bids for janitorial services at the Probation and Parole District #24 office located in Farmville, Virginia. The goal of this contract is to maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the facility, which serves a critical function in the state's correctional system.

Work Details
The contractor will provide janitorial services three days a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) during business hours from 8:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST. The office space consists of 4,535 square feet and includes:

- Four restrooms
- One kitchenette
- One janitorial closet
- One urine screen testing area
- Fifteen offices
- One conference room
- One group room
- One lobby
- One break room
- One electrical maintenance room

Services include but are not limited to:
- Emptying trash receptacles
- Spot cleaning carpets
- Vacuuming carpets
- Sweeping and mopping hard surface floors
- Cleaning and disinfecting drinking fountains
- Sanitizing restroom facilities
- Cleaning mirrors and glass surfaces
- Replacing soap and paper products
- Dusting surfaces
- Conducting quarterly deep cleaning tasks such as buffing floors and washing windows.

The contractor must also provide all necessary cleaning supplies and equipment except for paper products which will be supplied by the agency.

Period of Performance
The contract will be effective for one year from the date of issuance with options for renewal as specified in the solicitation.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the Probation and Parole District #24 office located at 601 Industrial Park Road, Farmville, Virginia 23901.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be DSBSD-certified micro or small businesses to qualify for set-aside awards. They must comply with all applicable laws regarding employment discrimination and maintain a drug-free workplace. Additionally, bidders are required to have appropriate insurance coverage including workers' compensation and general liability insurance.
