DOC-25-023 Physician Services @ Patrick Henry Correctional Unit

Background
The Commonwealth of Virginia, through the Department of Corrections, is seeking proposals for physician services at the Patrick Henry Correctional Unit located in Ridgeway, VA. The goal is to provide medical care for approximately 100 male inmates. This contract aims to ensure that the healthcare needs of the inmate population are met effectively and efficiently.

Work Details
The selected provider will deliver physician services for up to six (6) hours per month, which includes:

- Performing physical examinations
- Prescribing medications
- Reviewing X-rays and lab reports
- Maintaining patient medical records with summaries of consultations
- Adhering to established formularies
- Consulting with the Department’s Office of Health Services as needed
- Making referrals to specialists
- Providing emergency medical services
- Offering employee health services as required.

The provider must submit a monthly accounting of hours worked and prepare invoices for payment based on actual hours worked. Any additional hours beyond the six-hour limit must be pre-approved by the facility’s Health Authority.

Period of Performance
The initial term of the contract will be for one year with options for renewal for four successive one-year periods.

Services will be performed at the Patrick Henry Correctional Unit located at 18155 A.L. Philpott Highway, Ridgeway, VA 24148.
