Devlin Road Widening

Background
The Devlin Road Widening project is overseen by the Prince William County Department of Transportation (PWCDOT) and is part of the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) initiatives. The project aims to enhance traffic flow and safety along Devlin Road (Route 621) by widening the road and improving associated infrastructure. This includes revisions to right-of-way plans, utility easements, and drainage systems to accommodate current and future traffic demands.

Work Details
The contract involves various construction activities including:
- Widening of Devlin Road from 0.080 miles north of University Blvd to 0.009 miles south of Jennell Dr.
- Installation of storm sewer pipes with specific requirements such as:
- 26' - 15" Storm Sewer Pipe (3' Cover)
- 54' - 15" Storm Sewer Pipe (10' Cover)
- Various sizes of reinforced concrete pipes including 24" and 30" pipes with specified covers.
- Construction of right turn lanes and left turn lanes totaling approximately 300 LF each.
- Installation of noise barriers designed according to VDOT specifications, including galvanized steel posts and drystack finishes.
- Adjustments to existing utilities, including water lines and drainage systems, ensuring compliance with geotechnical recommendations.

Period of Performance
The project is scheduled for completion by July 23, 2025, with various phases outlined in the revisions made throughout the planning process.

The work will be performed along Devlin Road (Route 621) in Prince William County, Virginia.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with VDOT's specifications for construction materials and methods. They are required to submit complete working drawings/shop plans for review before commencing work on the noise barriers. Additionally, contractors must ensure that all work adheres to the latest geotechnical recommendations dated July 19, 2024.
