Virginia Tech is seeking proposals from study abroad providers in order to establish master service agreements with the University for approved providers. Please see RFP document for further details.
Background
Virginia Tech, a leading research institution in the Commonwealth of Virginia, is seeking proposals from study abroad providers to establish master service agreements for custom faculty-led study abroad programs.
The goal is to streamline the selection of providers that assist with study abroad programs and to centralize oversight of these services.
This initiative aims to maintain a diverse portfolio of high-quality study abroad opportunities for students across various academic disciplines.

Work Details
The selected providers will be responsible for offering comprehensive study abroad services that align with Virginia Tech's Global Education Office values. This includes:
1. Educational Study Abroad Provider/University Offering Customized Program Services:
- Providing high-quality academic content aligned with Virginia Tech’s curriculum.
- Ensuring in-country support staff fluent in the host language and familiar with local culture.
- Arranging safe transportation, lodging at three-star equivalent hotels or hostels, and group meals as needed.
- Developing itineraries that include cultural and educational excursions relevant to program learning outcomes.
2. Travel Agency or Lodging Provider:
- Offering sustainable travel options and accommodations that meet environmental standards.
- Providing transparent pricing structures and detailed proposals for services rendered.

Period of Performance
The contract will have an initial term of two years, with options for four additional two-year renewals based on mutual agreement.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed globally, depending on the specific locations of the faculty-led study abroad programs.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must register as vendors within the eVA system and comply with Virginia Tech's insurance requirements, including maintaining specific liability coverage.
Participation from Small, Women-Owned, and Minority (SWAM) businesses is encouraged, and bidders must outline their plans for SWAM participation if applicable.
