CRHA 25-B-003 MacDonald Manor Community Roof System Improvements

Background
The Chesapeake Redevelopment and Housing Authority (CRHA) is a public body established to provide decent, safe, and sanitary housing for low-income citizens in Chesapeake, Virginia.

The CRHA is seeking bids for roof system improvements at the MacDonald Manor Community, which includes constructing gable features over entranceways and replacing roofing membranes and rainwear. This project aims to enhance the living conditions of residents by improving the structural integrity and aesthetics of the community's roofing systems.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for providing all labor, materials, services, permits, inspections, machinery, tools, equipment, and other necessary items to complete the roof system improvements as specified.

Key tasks include:
1) Removal of existing roofing materials including underlayment and asphalt shingles;
2) Installation of a new asphalt shingle roofing system;
3) Construction of new gable end roof elements above each building's entry;
4) Replacement of fire-damaged wood roof trusses and plywood sheathing in building #1304;
5) Compliance with all safety regulations including OSHA standards;
6) Coordination with CRHA to ensure minimal disruption to residents during construction.

Period of Performance
The contractor must begin work within 10 calendar days after receiving a Notice to Proceed and complete all work within 120 calendar days.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the MacDonald Manor Community located in the 1300 Block of MacDonald Rd., Chesapeake, VA.
