Background
The Thaiss Park Renovation project involves the construction of a new park and building with recreation amenities, related site improvements, new/renovated baseball fields, playground, sport court, paths, parking and plaza, and associated landscaping, lighting, irrigation and furnishing. The project is located at 3401 Pickett Road, Fairfax VA 22031 and is being carried out by the City of Fairfax, Virginia. The prime consultant for the project is GORDON US LLC.

Work Details
The work includes the demolition of an existing two-story block/stick frame building, metal pavilion, all existing park amenities, and the construction of a one-story block building with restrooms, meeting space, concession and attached shelter and related site improvements. Site improvements consist of new/renovated baseball fields, playground, sport court, hardscape such as paths, parking and plazas, and associated landscaping, lighting, irrigation and furnishings. The project also involves various construction activities detailed in the solicitation document such as concrete work, masonry work, structural steel framing, wood carpentry, thermal and moisture protection work,

finishes installation (including non-structural metal framing,
gypsum board installation),
specialties installation (such as signs and toilet accessories),
equipment installation (including play equipment and structures),

special construction (such as dugouts),
plumbing work (including domestic water piping),

electrical work (including low-voltage electrical power conductors and cables),
