Background
The Virginia Community College System is inviting sealed bids for the construction of the Construct Welding and Diesel Lab (CTE) Building project at Rappahannock Community College, Glenns Campus, located in Saluda, Virginia. The goal of this contract is to construct a new building dedicated to welding and diesel maintenance programs, enhancing vocational training opportunities.

Work Details
The project involves the construction of a new CTE building specifically designed for welding and diesel maintenance programs. The contractor will be responsible for all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to complete the construction as per the plans and specifications dated October 6, 2025. This includes excavation and removal of existing concrete piers on site. The estimated quantity of existing piers is 30, with each pier being approximately 30 inches in diameter and 48 inches deep. The contractor must also install welding booths provided by the college as part of their scope of work. The total base bid amount will include both the lump sum price for the construction and any additional costs associated with the excavation of existing concrete piers.

Period of Performance
The contract duration is set for 244 consecutive calendar days from the date of commencement as specified in the Notice to Proceed. Final completion is required within 30 consecutive calendar days after substantial completion.

The work will be performed at Rappahannock Community College, Glenns Campus, located in Saluda, Virginia.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be registered vendors in eVA (Virginia's electronic procurement system) to participate in this solicitation. A Standard Commonwealth Bid Bond (form CO-10.2) is required along with contract security regardless of bid amount. Contractors must comply with prevailing wage laws as outlined by the Department of Labor and Industry for public works contracts valued over $250,000.
