Caulking and Sealant Services

Background
Virginia Tech, an agency of the Commonwealth of Virginia, is seeking qualified contractors to perform caulking and sealant services across its approximately 213 buildings, which include offices and residential houses.
The goal of this contract is to ensure the integrity and maintenance of these structures through professional sealing and caulking solutions.

Work Details
The contractor will provide caulking and sealant systems for various applications including brick, block, windows, control joints, contraction joints, expansion joints in concrete and brick structures, stone, precast materials, roofing coping/flashing, and concrete paving.
Specific tasks include: identifying and applying appropriate sealants based on design specifications; submitting detailed plans with specification sheets for all materials prior to use; providing labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary for repairs; using specified products such as Techcrete 2500 or Techcrete AdMix by Tecnorap and Dow Corning Parking Structure Sealants-NS SL FC; ensuring a seamless caulking/sealant finish; conducting adhesion pull tests as requested; protecting surrounding structures from damage during work; maintaining safety protocols; and providing a warranty for materials or workmanship.

Period of Performance
The contract will last for one year with options for four one-year renewals based on negotiations.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at various locations throughout Virginia Tech's campus in Blacksburg, Virginia.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must register as vendors within the eVA system. They are encouraged to facilitate participation from small businesses owned by women and minorities (SWAM).
The contractor must maintain appropriate insurance coverage including Workers' Compensation, General Liability of $2 million, Automobile Liability of $500,000, among others.
Background checks are required for employees accessing the campus.
