Background
The Science Museum of Virginia, located in Richmond, Virginia, is seeking qualified chefs and caterers to provide professional catering services for events held at the museum.
The museum serves over 500,000 guests annually and offers ten event spaces for private rentals.
This RFP aims to establish a new Preferred Caterers List to ensure a diverse range of culinary options for clients.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all labor, materials, and supplies necessary for catering services at various event spaces within the museum.
Services include:
- Catering for Micro Weddings with light appetizers, champagne toast, and dessert options.
- Food preparation primarily off-site using locally sourced goods when possible.
- Coordination of deliveries with the Special Event Coordinator.
- Set up and take down of tables and chairs provided by the museum.
- Compliance with sanitation and safety standards, including maintaining a valid ABC license and liability insurance.
- Flexibility in menu offerings including appetizers, entrees, desserts, and accommodations for dietary restrictions (e.g., gluten-free, vegan).
- Participation in an open house event at no cost to the museum to showcase menu items.

Period of Performance
The initial contract period will commence upon execution and will last for two years, with two optional one-year renewal periods available.

Catering services will be performed at the Science Museum of Virginia located at 2500 West Broad Street, Richmond, VA 23220.
