Building LS, Replace Laboratory Hood Ventilation System

Background
The project is initiated by the Commonwealth of Virginia, specifically the Virginia Community College System, to replace the laboratory hood ventilation system at Northern Virginia Community College's Loudoun Campus. The goal is to enhance safety and efficiency in laboratory environments by upgrading outdated equipment.

Work Details
The project involves the replacement of eleven laboratory fume hoods. Key components include:
- Replacement of a rooftop-mounted conditioning and makeup air handling unit.
- Consolidation of independent exhaust fans into an energy recovery glycol system featuring dual redundant exhaust fans.
- Installation of a new exhaust system that allows for variable exhaust air flow based on the fume hood sash position.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to commence upon issuance of the Notice to Proceed and must be completed within a specified timeframe as determined by the Owner, typically within thirty (30) days after substantial completion.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Northern Virginia Community College, Loudoun Campus, located in Sterling, Virginia.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be registered in eVA (Virginia's electronic procurement system) and comply with all licensing requirements as per Virginia law. A Commonwealth of Virginia Standard Bid Bond is required for bids exceeding $500,000. Additionally, bidders must provide a Small Business Procurement Plan detailing participation by small businesses.
