Bid #K00224 - Fire Station 1 Garage Door Replacement

Background
The City of Staunton is seeking bids from qualified vendors for the turn-key removal and replacement installation of garage doors at Fire Station 1. The goal of this contract is to enhance the functionality and safety of the fire station's operations by upgrading its garage door systems.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all necessary labor, supervision, equipment, tools, parts, materials, supplies, and accessories to remove existing doors and completely install nine (9) commercial grade Hormann SG5000 C LP U 42 roll-up garage doors. The specifications include:

1. Doors must be 12 feet wide by 12 feet high with a custom powder-coated finish (white interior and exterior).
2. Installation includes operators and accessories.
3. The contractor is responsible for all measurements to ensure a full turn-key installation.
4. Door panels must withstand wind loading indicated at 120 MPH/Hurricane class 3.
5. Insulated panels with an R-50 insulation rating or better are required for thermal insulation and strength.
6. Each door shall have two tinted vision slats.
7. Electrical requirements must comply with NEC Code, including a 5HP variable speed motor.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon award and is expected to be completed within a timeframe that allows for the delivery and installation of the garage doors as specified in the bid documents.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Fire Station 1 located at 500 N. Augusta Street, Staunton, VA 24401.
