Background
The County of York, Virginia, through its Central Purchasing office, is seeking bids for the Tabb High School Lighting Replacement project on behalf of the County School Board of York County. The project aims to replace existing lighting systems at Tabb High School, including building and ballfield lighting, as well as the auditorium house lighting dimming system. This initiative aligns with the County's commitment to enhancing educational facilities and ensuring a safe and effective learning environment.

Work Details
The Scope of Work includes:
1) Removal and replacement of all existing building lighting and ballfield lighting;
2) Removal and replacement of the existing auditorium house lighting dimming system;
3) Removal and replacement of all existing lighting branch circuitry;
4) Installation of new exterior wall-mounted security lighting and branch circuitry;
5) Installation of a new lighting control system.

Detailed requirements are outlined in the Project Manual by Thompson Consulting Engineers dated April 2, 2025, which includes all drawings, specifications, and schedules.

Period of Performance
Work may begin as early as June 12, 2025, after receipt of Notice to Proceed. Substantial completion for building lighting is expected by August 8, 2025, with final completion by September 12, 2025. For ballfield lighting, substantial completion is expected by August 29, 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Tabb High School located in Yorktown, Virginia.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have completed at least three projects of similar size and scope within the last seven years. All past project references must be from K-12 school projects or equivalent. Bids must include a Bid Bond equal to at least five percent of the total bid amount. The successful bidder will also need to provide Performance and Payment Bonds equal to 100% of the accepted bid.
