Background
The County of York, Virginia, through its Central Purchasing office, is seeking bids for the construction of a geothermal well field at Tabb High School. This project aims to enhance the school's energy efficiency and sustainability by utilizing geothermal energy. The County School Board of York County serves as the owner of the project.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:

1. Installation of geothermal circuit piping that will terminate at a concrete slab for a future addition, connecting to common supply and return headers supported by the slab.

2. Construction of a new concrete slab covered by a shed to weatherproof the piping installation and provide mounting surfaces for panels, lighting, receptacles, and equipment.

3. Provision of heat trace and a unit heater for freeze protection of insulated and jacketed geothermal piping installed above grade.

4. Restoration of the existing site to pre-construction conditions as per specifications.

5. Contractors must visit the site to assess existing conditions prior to bidding.

Period of Performance
The work must be substantially complete by August 15, 2025, and finally complete by September 15, 2025.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have completed at least two projects of similar size and scope within the last ten years in K-12 school projects or equivalent. Bids must include references for these projects. Each bid must be accompanied by a Bidder’s bond or certified check equal to at least five percent of the total bid amount.
