Augusta Nursery Weed Control 2025 Season

Background
The Augusta Nursery, located in Crimora, VA, is seeking a crew to remove weeds from June 2025 to August 2025 in their tree seedling beds, covering approximately 28 acres.
The nursery aims to maintain the health and growth of its seedlings by ensuring effective weed control during this critical period.

Work Details
1. Crews shall manually remove weeds by hand under supervision and transport them to containers in an awaiting wagon for disposal.
Any loss of seedlings due to improper removal of weeds will be billed back to the contractor at replacement value.
2. Augusta Nursery staff will provide instruction on the correct weeding procedure once the contract is awarded.
3. The awarded contractor must provide a current Certificate of Insurance with the Department of Forestry (DOF) listed as an additional insured, meeting or exceeding minimum insurance requirements stated in the General Terms attached to this solicitation.
4. The contractor must resolve any deficiencies found within one week; failure to do so may result in termination of the contract.
5. The contractor must provide between 10 and 20+ crew members each day, depending on workload.
6. Augusta Nursery staff will give a 10-14 days' notice prior to when crews are needed to start work.
7. Work hours are Monday through Friday, from 6 AM to 4:30 PM, limited to 8-hour days.
