Augusta County Library ADA Compliant Website Design and Development

Background
The Augusta County Library is seeking proposals from qualified firms to redesign and develop its public-facing website with a strong emphasis on ADA compliance, usability, and mobile-first responsive design.

The library aims to provide an accessible and engaging web experience for all users while transitioning from its current WordPress-based platform. This initiative aligns with the library's mission of being an inclusive, community-centered institution serving a diverse patron base.

Work Details
The project involves the following key tasks:
1. Ensure full compliance with WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards.
2. Transition from WordPress to a content management system (CMS) that allows non-technical content editing by library staff.
3. Create a user-centered design featuring simple navigation and mobile responsiveness.
4. Incorporate interactive features such as ADA-compliant forms, event calendars, and catalog integration.
5. Collaborate with library staff and community members, including individuals with disabilities, to design an intuitive layout for patrons and content editors.
6. Develop a modern aesthetic reflecting the library’s values of inclusion, equity, and access.

The final website, graphics, and content structures will be the sole property of Augusta County.

Period of Performance
The anticipated project timeline begins in October 2025 with a launch expected by April 17, 2026.

The work will be performed in Augusta County, Virginia.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must demonstrate experience with ADA-compliant websites and have provided services to library or government clients. Proposals must include references from at least three clients, including one less-than-satisfied client if possible.
