Background
The Hanover County Department of Public Utilities (DPU) is responsible for maintaining public water and wastewater infrastructure in the Suburban Services Area (SSA) of Hanover County, Virginia. This Invitation for Bids (IFB) aims to procure qualified easement and fence line clearing services on an as-needed basis.

The DPU ensures quality control and problem-solving to meet emergencies while adhering to local, state, and federal regulations. The SSA encompasses approximately 63,400 acres and serves around 20,000 water customers and 18,200 sewer customers.

Work Details
The contractor will provide comprehensive easement and fence line clearing services, which include supervision, labor, equipment, tools, materials, supplies, transportation, and documentation. Specific tasks include:
1. Clearing vegetation types across neighborhoods and wooded areas within the SSA.
2. Maintaining easements free from overgrowth, trees, and litter.
3. Proper disposal of debris generated from work activities.
4. Hand clearing for inaccessible areas due to terrain or traffic hazards.
5. Machine clearing using appropriate machinery for larger growth.
6. Compliance with environmental regulations regarding streams and water bodies.
7. Notification to property owners about clearing activities when directed by the County.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon award and extend through February 28, 2026. The contract may be renewable based on mutual agreement.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various locations throughout Hanover County, Virginia.
