2024-2025 Snow Removal Equipment Services Agreement

Background
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is issuing a solicitation for snow and ice removal services for the 2024-2025 winter season. This contract aims to secure equipment and operators to provide emergency snow and ice removal services as needed during winter weather events.

The services are critical due to the unpredictable nature of winter weather, which requires timely and effective responses to ensure public safety on roadways.

Work Details
Contractors are required to provide all necessary equipment and experienced operators for snow removal operations as directed by VDOT. Key details include:
1. Equipment must be inspected and accepted by VDOT by November 15, 2024.
2. Contractors must submit a completed Electronic Snow Removal Equipment Agreement by October 31, 2024, to be eligible for mobilization bonus payments.
3. A one-time incentive payment of $300 will be provided for early sign-up by October 31, 2024.
4. All vehicles must be properly licensed and equipped with necessary safety features including rotating amber lights.
5. Payment rates include $625 for push time and $312.50 for standby time.
6. Contractors providing five or more vehicles must also supply supervisors with specific vehicle requirements.
7. All operational services must comply with VDOT standards, including proper training of operators in snow removal techniques.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon approval of the vendor agreement and will continue through April 30 of the year following the effective date.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed within designated VDOT locations across the Richmond District.
