2024-2025 M7B Snow Removal Services - Salem Residency

Background
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is issuing a solicitation for snow removal services for the 2024-2025 season in the Salem Residency. The goal of this contract is to provide emergency snow and ice removal services during winter weather events, ensuring safe road conditions across the designated areas.

The solicitation emphasizes the use of the Plow4VA online registration system, which will be available starting August 1, 2024, for contractors to register and submit their equipment agreements.

Work Details
Contractors are required to furnish all necessary equipment and experienced operators for snow removal operations as directed by VDOT. Services include:
1. Providing operational services during winter weather events at designated VDOT locations.
2. Equipment must be properly licensed and maintained in compliance with federal and state regulations.
3. Contractors must ensure that all operators possess valid Commercial Driver’s Licenses (CDL) and are trained in snow removal operations.
4. Payment will be based on hourly rates for equipment with operators actively engaged in operational services or on standby as directed by VDOT.
5. All VDOT-owned equipment must be returned in good condition by specified deadlines to remain eligible for payments and bonuses.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon approval of vendor agreements and will extend through April 30 of the year following the effective date. Key deadlines include submission of equipment agreements by October 2, 2024, and final submissions by February 14, 2025.
