Background
The Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) is issuing this solicitation for the Eastern Region Roof Replacements project. This project aims to replace roofing and accessories on existing buildings at False Cape, First Landing, Machicomoco, and York River State Parks. It is part of the agency's mission to maintain and improve state parks for public use and enjoyment.

Work Details
The project involves the in-kind replacement of roofing on small commercial and residential buildings across several state parks. Specific tasks include:
- Replacement of asphalt shingles and associated flashing, trim, and accessories on various buildings including residences and restroom facilities.
- Inspection and replacement of roof sheathing where unsound.
- Minor limited repairs to structures as needed.
- Installation of new gutters matching existing colors, with new downspouts at each end of the gutter system.
- Compliance with applicable Virginia building codes including the 2021 Virginia Existing Building Code and 2021 Virginia Construction Code.

Period of Performance
The work is scheduled to commence following the pre-bid conference on December 18, 2024. Specific timelines for completion will be outlined in subsequent documentation.
