159796 Benjamin Harrison Bridge Drives & Motors

Background
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is issuing this Invitation for Bids (IFB) to procure Drives and Motors for the Benjamin Harrison Bridge. The goal of this contract is to furnish and shop test the bridge's main drive electrical system as specified in the contract plans and special provisions. This procurement aligns with VDOT's mission to maintain and improve transportation infrastructure in Virginia.

Work Details
The contractor will provide Drives and Motors for the Benjamin Harrison Bridge, including furnishing and shop testing of the bridge main drive electrical system. Installation will be performed by another contractor. The contractor must submit all required documentation as specified in the Special Provisions attached to this solicitation.

Delivery of materials is to be made to VDOT Chesterfield Residency at 3301 Speeks Drive, Midlothian, Virginia 23112, with a notification to John Lindeman 48 hours prior to delivery. The unit price must include shipping and delivery costs. Final delivery is expected within six months from the date of award.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence from the date of award and will last for six months, non-renewable.

Place of Performance
Richmond District, Virginia.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with all applicable laws and regulations, including those related to discrimination, ethics in public contracting, and insurance requirements. Specifically, bidders must have workers' compensation insurance, commercial general liability insurance of $1 million per occurrence, and automobile liability insurance if applicable.

Bidders are also required to register in eVA (Virginia's electronic procurement system) and pay any associated transaction fees.
