159559 NOVA Plumbing Maintenance & Repair Services

Background
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is issuing this Invitation for Bids (IFB # 159559) to solicit qualified firms to provide plumbing maintenance, repair, improvement, and renovation services for facilities located within the Northern Virginia District. This district includes Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William counties.

The goal of the contract is to ensure that VDOT facilities are maintained in good working order and comply with applicable standards.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all necessary labor, supervision, equipment, tools, materials, supplies, and incidentals required for commercial plumbing and gas fitting services on a time and materials basis. The scope of work includes:

1. Leak detection and repair for interior, exterior, and underground plumbing systems.
2. Maintenance and repair of plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, urinals, hot water heaters, faucets, etc.
3. Installation and maintenance of piping systems for water, wastewater, brine, or chemicals.
4. Utility detection including trenching and excavation as needed.
5. Compliance with all applicable laws and codes including the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code.
6. The contractor must perform at least 75% of the services provided under this contract.

Period of Performance
The contract will be effective for one year from the date of award but is renewable based on performance and VDOT's needs.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at various VDOT facilities located within the Northern Virginia District encompassing Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William counties.
