Background
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) is seeking bids for the Salt Pond Pumping Services to manage the disposal of aqueous wastewater with high salt concentrations and solid waste from various locations within VDOT's Richmond District Chesterfield Residency.
This contract aims to ensure proper environmental management and compliance with state regulations regarding wastewater disposal.

Work Details
The contractor will provide all necessary labor, supervision, equipment, and incidentals to load, haul, discharge, and dispose of salt pond water and leaf sludge. Specific requirements include:
1. Use of commercial pump tanker trucks with a minimum capacity of 5,000 gallons.
2. Provision of truck-mounted jet/vacuum sewer cleaners comparable to Model 2100 Vactor or equivalent specifications.
3. Continuous operation at sites until ponds are emptied, processing multiple loads per day.
4. Compliance with HAZMAT regulations during transportation and disposal.
5. Disposal at designated facilities (Henrico Water Reclamation Facility or Shamrock Environmental) with proper documentation provided for each load disposed.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon award and will last for one year, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and need.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed in the counties of Chesterfield, Amelia, and Powhatan within the Richmond District Chesterfield Residency.
