Salt Lake City Request for Proposals SLCI26001 Claims Adjustment Services

Background
Salt Lake City Corporation is seeking qualified offerors to provide claims adjustment services primarily for no-fault utility claims related to property damage from water main breaks and sewer backups, as well as vehicle accidents and bodily injury claims.
The City aims to select an offeror through a competitive process governed by local procurement codes, with the expectation of a single contract award based on the highest scoring proposal.

Work Details
The contractor will provide comprehensive claims adjustment services, including:
- Investigation, adjustment, acceptance, or denial of claims for property damage arising from water main breaks and sewer backups, and vehicle accidents.
- Contacting claimants or their attorneys within 24 hours of assignment.
- Obtaining recorded or written statements from claimants and witnesses.
- Performing third-party property damage appraisals and providing estimates within 48 hours of request.
- Reporting all injury claims to the Index Bureau every six months while open.
- Ensuring all evaluations are unbiased and not influenced by personal interests.

Period of Performance
The contract will be effective for five (5) years from the commencement date, with potential extensions up to four (4) months by mutual agreement.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed within Salt Lake County, Utah.

Bidder Requirements
Offerors must be registered with the Utah State Division of Corporations and Commercial Code.
They must maintain required insurance coverage throughout the contract term, including general liability, professional liability, and workers' compensation insurance.
Offerors must also have an office located in Salt Lake County to accept claim assignments during standard business hours.
