Background
South Salt Lake City is seeking qualified electricians for On-call Electrical Services. The purpose of this contract is to create an Electrical Services Pool consisting of one or more qualified contractors. This will allow the city to address small projects and electrical service needs without going through the contracting process each time. The selected contractors will collaborate closely with the Engineering Department, Public Works Department, and Neighborhoods Department.
Work Details
The scope of services includes but is not limited to:
- Repairing, replacing, and maintaining streetlights.
- Inspections, troubleshooting, installations, alterations, repairs, and/or replacements of high and low voltage electrical wiring systems and equipment.
- Testing, locating, and repairing problems with electrical circuits and equipment.
- Connecting wiring to lighting fixtures and power cables to equipment.
- Repairing and replacing broken or defective parts in motors, switches, and fixtures.
- Repairing malfunctions using standard methods.
- Testing electrical equipment for efficiency and safety using standard test equipment.
- Confined space entry.
- Fire alarm panels inspection, testing, troubleshooting, installation, repair, replacement, and maintenance.
Types of equipment that may need service include:
- Indoor/outdoor light ballasts and fixtures
- Light switches/receptacles (indoor/outdoor)
- Photocells
- Backup generators
- Pump motors/control panels (single/three phase)
- Controls (low/high voltage)
- Conduit installation/circuit installation/repair
- Power distribution electrical boxes
- Programmable logic controllers
- Fire panels/wiring
- SCADA systems.
Emergency services may be required on a 24/7 basis with a response time within 30 minutes for requests.
Period of Performance
The contract will be performed from the date of selection until June 30th, 2028.
Place of Performance
The services will be performed in South Salt Lake City.
Bidder Requirements
Contractors must have on staff personnel with a non-restricted electrical contractor's license. They are required to supply all necessary equipment, materials, parts, and supplies needed for the services requested. Contractors must also provide proof of insurance including workers' compensation insurance and liability insurance with specified coverage amounts.
