IFB -A/C Retrofit of School Buses

Background
The Jordan School District (JSD) is seeking to enter into a contract for the A/C Retrofit of School Buses. This initiative is aimed at enhancing the comfort and operational efficiency of school buses used within the district. The solicitation is issued in accordance with the State of Utah Procurement Code and applicable rules, ensuring compliance with state regulations.

Work Details
The contractor will provide A/C retrofit services for various brands of school buses, specifically: International Front Engine model IC, Blue Bird Rear Engine All American, and Thomas Rear Engine C2 and HDX models.

The required systems for retrofit include:
- For 33-foot buses: Bus Climate Control (BCC) brand A/C unit, HVAC Roof Mount System with 60,000 BTU, electrical requirements tied into the noise suppression system.
- For 40-foot buses: Bus Climate Control (BCC) brand A/C unit, HVAC Roof Mount System with 55,000 BTU on the front unit and 75,000 BTU on the rear unit (totaling 130,000 BTUs).

The contractor must ensure that all installations are performed according to BCC kit instructions and that units are adequately sealed to prevent leaks. A warranty of 2 years for parts and labor is required. An estimated 15 to 20 buses will be retrofitted per year.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon acceptance of the bid and will last for one year, with an option for JSD to extend it for up to two additional years under the same terms.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at locations designated by the Jordan School District in West Jordan, Utah.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have a minimum of five years of experience in similar work. They are responsible for providing all necessary labor, materials, equipment, tools, machinery, and services required for the execution of the work. Bidders must also maintain liability insurance covering various aspects including workers' compensation and general liability.
