Background
The State of Utah - Division of Facilities Construction and Management (DFCM) is requesting proposals for the construction of exhibit fabrication services for the Museum of Utah, which will be located in the new North Capitol Building.

This museum aims to celebrate Utah's unique history, culture, and art through world-class exhibits and community spaces. The Museum will serve as a gateway to Utah's capitol complex, engaging visitors with stories from various perspectives, including those of inventors, indigenous cultures, miners, settlers, and artists. The mission of the Museum is to honor the past and inspire the future by sharing the state's unique history, culture, and art.

Work Details
The project requires exhibit fabrication services for an approximately 18,000 square foot museum space within the North Capitol Building. The exhibits will be organized into four major galleries: Becoming, Connecting, Building, and Inspiring.

The selected Exhibit Fabricator will work closely with The Design Minds, Inc. (Exhibit Designer), RLMG (Media Producer), Museum staff, CCE/UHS leadership, VCBO Architects (NCB architect), AJC Architects (Museum architect), Okland Construction (NCB general contractor), and other entities at the Capitol Complex. Key tasks include fabricating casework and integrated audiovisual elements located in both museum spaces and the building’s lobby/atrium area. Coordination with Okland Construction is essential for access to construction areas including loading docks and freight elevators.

Period of Performance
The construction of the North Capitol Building is scheduled for completion in January 2026. Exhibit installation is anticipated to begin in fall 2025 with a project end date of May 1, 2026.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at the Museum of Utah located within the new North Capitol Building on the north side of the Utah State Capitol complex.
