American Fork River Diversion Reconstruction Project

Background
The American Fork River Diversion Reconstruction Project involves the removal and disposal of the existing diversion structure and appurtenances, as well as the construction of a new diversion structure with specialty Coanda screens and gates. The project is funded by NRCS and sponsored by Pleasant Grove City, with three irrigation companies being the primary beneficiaries.

Work Details
The project includes the removal of old concrete structures at the river's exit from the canyon, followed by the installation of a new concrete diversion structure to divert river flows into 10 separate pipes conveying metered water to three irrigation districts. Additionally, extra water will be sent over Coanda screens to make its way down the existing American Fork River. There is also an optional alignment for damming and piping American Fork River flows around the project during its duration, with potential staging areas shown on the plans.
