Background
The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (DWR), Great Basin Research Center (GBRC) is seeking to procure services for the custom fabrication, rigging, and fitting of a crane and flatbed dump bed on a new Western Star 49X equipment delivery truck. The DWR provides restoration equipment and support to restoration projects throughout Utah. The purpose of this contract is to enhance the capabilities of the newly acquired truck for delivering equipment to various restoration projects, which involves lifting and unloading heavy equipment in rugged settings.

Work Details
The contract includes the procurement and installation of a crane system, fabrication and installation of a custom flatbed dump bed, and procurement, rigging, and fitting of specified storage boxes onto a Western Star 49X truck. Minimum specifications for the crane include:
- Articulating or knuckle style with PTO
- Tank valve
- Outriggers
- 12,500 ft. lbs. @ 11’6” and 4,000 ft. lbs. @ 45’
- Rack and pinion rotation system with 410 degrees of rotation
- A 6 function radio remote control.

Minimum specifications for the flatbed dump body include:
- Length of 20’0”
- Width of 102”
- Made from 1/4” smooth steel with specific structural requirements including headboard height of 24”, standard rear bumper, a hoist rated at 25 tons,
- Weatherproof storage/tool boxes made from 14-gauge powder-coated steel with specified dimensions
- Hydraulic systems including a diversion valve for simultaneous use of hoist and crane
- Shovel racks for tool storage
- Tire chain storage.

All work must be completed within the awarded vendor’s facility without transporting the truck elsewhere.

Period of Performance
The work is expected to be completed within four months after the awarded vendor receives the truck. The DWR will consider longer timelines but prefers timely completion.

Place of Performance
The work must be performed within the state of Utah, preferably no more than 150 miles from the GBRC facility located at 494 West 100 South, Ephraim, UT 84627.

Bidder Requirements
Vendors must provide a detailed itemized bid including make and model specifications for both crane and hoist systems. Vendors must be located within Utah and complete all fabrication work at their facility without transporting the truck elsewhere. They are required to provide verbal progress reports every two weeks upon request from DWR.
