2026 Roadway Project

Background
The City of Orem is issuing a contract for the 2026 Roadway Project, which aims to enhance roadway infrastructure. The project includes significant improvements to various road sections, focusing on asphalt milling and overlay, excavation, and reconstruction. The goal is to ensure safe and efficient transportation for the community.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:
1) 44,985 square yards of asphalt section 1½” edge mill and 2” overlay (1/2” PG 64-34);
2) 8,670 square yards of asphalt section 2” profile mill and 2” overlay (1/2” PG 64-34);
3) 11,100 square yards of roadway excavation and reconstruction with 5” asphalt (1/2” PG 64-34);
and additional roadway improvements as specified in the contract documents.

Period of Performance
Work is scheduled to commence after June 1, 2026, with completion deadlines set for August 3, 2026 for specific sections (800 South and 950 North) and by September 19, 2026 for the entire project.

Place of Performance
The project will take place in Orem, Utah, specifically along designated roadways including sections of South and North streets as outlined in the project specifications.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess a valid contractor's license in Utah. They are required to provide proof of insurance including general liability coverage of at least $2 million per occurrence, automobile liability coverage of at least $2 million per accident, and workers' compensation as mandated by state law. Additionally, bidders must submit a bid bond equal to five percent of their total bid amount.
