Background
The TIRZ #1 Iturbide Street Improvements Project is initiated by the City of Laredo's Engineering Department. The project aims to enhance the infrastructure along Iturbide Street in downtown Laredo, focusing on improving pedestrian and vehicular access through various construction activities. The project includes the following construction activities:
1. Constructing sidewalks, curb and gutter, brick pavers, concrete pavement, asphalt pavement, storm drainage, lighting, electrical work, trees, and irrigation for five blocks along Iturbide Street.
2. Demolition of existing concrete sidewalks (6229 SF), driveways (975 SF), curb & gutter (1626 LF), and asphalt pavement (4900 SF).
3. Removal of bollards (2 EA) and curb/grate inlets and boxes (4 EA).
4. Construction of new concrete sidewalks (6700 SF), 12" concrete pavement (1000 SF), Type ‘A’ curb and gutter (991 LF), ADA ramps (Type 1: 2 EA; Type 10: 1 EA), concrete driveways (1435 SF), detectable warning pavers (197 SF), vehicular pavers (1263 SF), pedestrian pavers (2195 SF).
5. Installation of storm drainage systems including PVC pipes, junction boxes, grate inlets, and adjustments to water meters and valves.
Period of Performance
The construction contract time for this project is set at one hundred eighty (180) working days from the notice to proceed.
Place of Performance
The work will be performed in downtown Laredo along Iturbide Street.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must submit a Company Information Questionnaire, Conflict of Interest Disclosure, Non-Collusive Affidavit, Discretionary Contracts Disclosure, and Certificate of Interested Parties Form 1295 as part of their proposal. Bidders are required to have appropriate insurance coverage including Commercial General Liability insurance with minimum limits of $1 million per occurrence and $2 million aggregate, Workers Compensation insurance at statutory limits, and Commercial Automobile Liability insurance with minimum limits of $1 million.
