Background
The TIRZ #1 Iturbide Street Improvements Project is initiated by the City of Laredo's Engineering Department. The project aims to enhance the infrastructure along Iturbide Street in downtown Laredo, focusing on improving pedestrian and vehicular access through various construction activities.
The goal is to create a more functional and aesthetically pleasing urban environment that supports the city's mission of providing quality services to its residents.
Work Details
The project involves the construction of sidewalks, curb and gutter, brick pavers, concrete pavement, asphalt pavement, storm drainage systems, lighting, electrical installations, trees, and irrigation across five blocks along Iturbide Street.
Specific tasks include:
- Demolishing existing concrete sidewalks (6229 SF)
- Driveways (975 SF)
- Curb & gutter (1626 LF)
- Asphalt pavement & concrete pavement (4900 SF)
- Removing bollards (2 EA)
Additionally, new constructions will include:
- Concrete sidewalks (6700 SF)
- 12" concrete pavement (1000 SF)
- Type ‘A’ curb and gutter (991 LF)
- ADA ramps (Type 1: 2 EA; Type 10: 1 EA)
- Detectable warning pavers (197 SF)
- Vehicular pavers (1263 SF)
- Pedestrian pavers (2195 SF)
- Various drainage components including junction boxes and curb boxes.
Period of Performance
The construction contract time for the project is set for one hundred eighty (180) working days from the notice to proceed.
Place of Performance
The work will be performed in downtown Laredo along Iturbide Street.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must submit a Company Information Questionnaire, Conflict of Interest Disclosure, Non-Collusive Affidavit, Discretionary Contracts Disclosure, and Certificate of Interested Parties (Form 1295).
Bidders are required to have appropriate insurance coverage including Commercial General Liability insurance with minimum limits of $1 million per occurrence and $2 million aggregate. Additionally, bidders must not be currently debarred or suspended from receiving contracts from any political subdivision or agency of the State of Texas.
