Description

The State Preservation Board (SPB) is seeking qualified painting services vendors to paint offices in the Texas Capitol and Capitol Extension on an as-needed basis.

Background
The State Preservation Board (SPB) is seeking qualified painting services vendors to provide painting services for offices in the Texas Capitol and Capitol Extension. The goal of this contract is to maintain the aesthetic and historical integrity of these significant state buildings through professional painting services.

Work Details
The contractor will provide painting services on an as-needed basis, primarily during normal business hours, but some work may need to be completed on weekends or after hours. Bidders must submit hourly rates for both normal and after-hours work. The contractor must be prepared for quick turnaround scheduling, with some tasks needing completion within 1-2 days.

The scope includes:
- Painting offices in the Capitol using advanced alkyd paint, requiring scraping, filling holes, caulking, wet sanding, and priming where necessary.
- Painting in the Capitol Extension using latex paint with caulking, filling holes, priming, and rolling out paint.

Specific materials provided by SPB include various Glidden Professional paints and Zinsser stain blocker. The contractor must supply tools such as brushes, roller frames, ladders (6 to 28 feet), drop cloths, and other hand tools required for painting.

A responsible foreman or superintendent must be present at all times to communicate with SPB managers and lead painters. No subcontractors are allowed.

Period of Performance
The expected work start date is October 1, 2024, with an expected completion date of January 31, 2025.

The contract will be performed at the Texas Capitol and Capitol Extension located in Austin, Texas.
