Student Nutrition Software Systems

Background
Forney Independent School District (FISD) is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to provide a comprehensive Student Nutrition Software System to support daily operations across the district’s Child Nutrition program. The goal of this contract is to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the district's nutrition services, ensuring compliance with USDA guidelines and improving overall service delivery to students.

Work Details
The selected vendor will provide a fully integrated Student Nutrition Software System that includes functionalities such as:
- Standard and custom reporting
- Inventory management
- Menu planning and nutritional analysis
- Production management
- Back-office tools for workflows
- Point-of-sale (POS) meal sales
- Student account management
- Free and reduced meal application processing
- Meal counting support.

The software must be USDA approved and delivered as a Software as a Service (SaaS) model with no on-premises server requirements. Key features include: cloud-based deployment, data encryption, integration with existing systems for user data synchronization, automated user provisioning, disaster recovery plans, compliance with data privacy regulations, and robust customer support.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon award and is expected to be fully implemented within 30 days. The initial term of the contract will extend through June 30, 2027, with options for annual renewal.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various locations within Forney Independent School District in Forney, Texas.

Bidder Requirements
Vendors must have experience providing nutrition software systems for K-12 school districts. They must demonstrate the ability to meet district requirements for ongoing support and data security. Additionally, vendors must comply with all relevant regulations regarding criminal background checks for employees who will have contact with students.
