Street Resurfacing; FY'26 Capital Phase II

Background
The City of Covington, Kentucky, through its Department of Public Works, is seeking bids for the Street Resurfacing Project for FY'26 Capital Phase II. This project aims to enhance the infrastructure by resurfacing various streets within the city, ensuring improved safety and accessibility for residents and visitors. The contract will be managed by the Procurement Office under the Department of Finance.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary equipment, materials, supplies, tools, and supervision to complete the project as specified. Key tasks include:
1. Installing 'No Parking' signs 24 hours prior to construction.
2. Providing a work schedule to City Engineering staff two weeks before starting work.
3. Milling existing street surfaces to a specified depth according to KYTC standards.
4. Sweeping streets clear of debris before resurfacing.
5. Adjusting manhole and valve box frames to final surface grade during milling.
6. Resurfacing streets with hot-mix asphalt as per KYTC specifications.
7. Sealing joints with hot-poured sealant and applying line striping for centerlines and crosswalks as indicated in the bid form.
8. Maintaining traffic control during construction operations and ensuring environmental controls are in place.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon issuance of the Notice to Proceed and is expected to be completed by October 31, 2026.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed in various locations throughout Covington, Kenton County, Kentucky.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide a bid security of 10% in the form of a certified check or bid bond. They must also have a valid business license from the City of Covington and be registered with the Kentucky Secretary of State to conduct business in Kentucky prior to entering into an agreement.
