Description

Texas Parksand Wildlife Department (TPWD) is seeking Statements of Qualifications forselection of Veterinary medical professionals interested in providingveterinary services for TPWD fish hatcheries. The individual who is to performthe veterinary services must be a veterinarian certified and licensed as aDoctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in the State of Texas.


Background
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) is seeking Statements of Qualifications from veterinary medical professionals to provide veterinary services for TPWD fish hatcheries. The goal is to ensure the health and treatment of fish at these facilities, which is critical for the agency's mission of managing and conserving the state's natural resources.

Work Details
The contractor will provide comprehensive veterinary services, including but not limited to: medical treatment, medication, and care for fish located at TPWD hatcheries. Specific tasks include filling prescriptions for Veterinary Feed Directive (VFD) medicated feed to treat common fish bacterial diseases such as columnaris disease and enteric septicemia of catfish. Examples of medications include Aquaflor®, Terramycin® 200 for Fish, Romet® 30, Romet® TC, and Liquamycin® LA-200 injections.

The contractor will also be required to travel bi-annually to various TPWD hatchery locations for compliance with FDA-CVM requirements. Communication and coordination with TPWD personnel and a certified Aquatic Animal Health Inspector (AAHI) are essential.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon execution and is set to terminate on August 31, 2026. TPWD may renew the contract for up to three additional one-year terms based on performance and funding availability.

Place of Performance
Veterinary services will be performed at various TPWD Inland Fisheries Hatchery locations in Texas, including: A.E. Wood Fish Hatchery in San Marcos,
Dundee Fish Hatchery in Electra,
East Texas Fish Hatchery in Brookeland,
Possum Kingdom Fish Hatchery in Graford,
and Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center in Athens.

Bidder Requirements
Respondents must be licensed veterinarians (DVM) in the State of Texas. They must demonstrate experience with fish care and knowledge of common fish diseases using American Fisheries Society diagnostic protocols.

Respondents are required to provide a detailed narrative explaining their qualifications, a company profile including ownership structure and history, key staffing profiles with relevant experience, and references from similar projects completed within the last five years.
