Speech Language Pathology Services

Background
Katy Independent School District (Katy ISD) is seeking proposals for Speech Language Pathology Services due to a shortage of speech language pathologists in the area. The district aims to meet the growing needs of students with speech impairments while complying with federal and state mandates for speech therapy service time.

This Request for Proposal (RFP) #2339GG(A) is issued in accordance with Texas Education Code 44.031(a)(3).

Work Details
The selected vendor(s) will provide certified Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs), SLP-Assistants, and Clinical Fellows to evaluate and treat school-aged students. Key responsibilities include:
1) Ensuring compliance with legal mandates for Full Individual Evaluations (FIE), Admission, Review and Dismissal (ARD) timelines, and therapy minutes;
2) Preparing necessary paperwork and attending ARD meetings;
3) Providing therapy services as per student schedules;
4) Maintaining proof of liability insurance and licensure;
5) Conducting criminal background checks;
6) Coordinating interviews with Katy ISD. Vendors must submit resumes, professional experience, degrees held, certifications, and hourly pricing aligned with the scope of work.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on July 15, 2024, and run through August 31, 2025, with options for four one-year renewals upon mutual agreement.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed across multiple campuses within Katy Independent School District.

Bidder Requirements
Vendors must have a valid Texas License in speech-language pathology and a Certificate of Clinical Competence. They are required to provide proof of liability insurance, undergo criminal background checks, and submit resumes of potential candidates. Vendors must also comply with all applicable laws regarding historically underutilized businesses.
