Background
Goose Creek Consolidated Independent School District (GCCSD) serves over 24,000 students across the Baytown and Highlands communities, covering approximately 134 square miles just 30 miles east of Houston, Texas. GCCISD is accepting proposals for Solid Waste Management Services as described in this solicitation. Work Details
The selected vendor will provide solid waste disposal, recycling, and related services for GCCISD. Specific services include:
- Collection & Disposal: Municipal solid waste (trash collection), front load and roll off container services, bulk waste and special pickups.
- Recycling Services: Single-stream recycling for cardboard, paper, plastics, and metals; recycling reporting and diversion tracking.
- Specialized Waste: Construction and demolition debris removal; hazardous/non-hazardous waste removal (if qualified).
- Equipment & Supplies: Various sizes of dumpsters and containers with lids.
- Related Services: Installation and removal of equipment; preventative maintenance and repairs; emergency/overflow services; route optimization and scheduling; training on proper waste disposal.
Specifications include leak-proof containers with fully closing lids, timely replacement of containers in case of odor complaints, daily pickups at school locations during the school year (except holidays), twice weekly pickups at support center locations, and adherence to a standard time schedule for pickups.
Period of Performance
The contract is intended for a one-year term from the date of award with an option to renew for two additional years upon mutual consent. If the proposal expires before a new proposal is executed, services will continue on a month-to-month basis until a new contract is in place.
