Background
The City of Lee’s Summit is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the procurement and deployment of a Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) platform. The goal is to enhance the City’s information technology systems by implementing a solution that enables centralized collection, monitoring, and analysis of logs from critical technology infrastructure systems and applications.
This initiative aims to improve data analysis, anomaly detection, threat identification, and forensic investigations across multiple systems.
Work Details
The selected Supplier will provide both on-premises and Software as a Service (SaaS) SIEM platform solutions. The scope includes:
- Traditional project management and overall implementation consultation.
- Configuration guidance, including Single Sign-On (SSO) integration with Active Directory.
- Functional installation, configuration, integration, and knowledge transfer.
- Performance testing of the SIEM platform.
- Support plan with a 30-day stabilization period post-launch.
- Training for City staff on the use of the platform.
The Supplier must ensure that the SIEM platform meets specific requirements such as ease of deployment, data ingestion capabilities from various sources, real-time monitoring, advanced analytics features, incident response management capabilities, and compliance with security standards.
Period of Performance
The anticipated agreement start date is March 2026. The project will include an implementation phase followed by a 30-day stabilization period.
Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the City of Lee’s Summit's facilities and may include remote support as necessary.
Bidder Requirements
Suppliers must have at least three years of experience providing commercial SIEM platforms. They should demonstrate professional services experience in implementing similar solutions for clients comparable in size to the City. Additionally, Suppliers must provide evidence that their proposed solution ensures data security by not hosting data offshore or transmitting it unencrypted.
