RFQ for Architect/Engineer - Active Learning Center for Sam Houston State University

Background
The Texas State University System (“Owner”), on behalf of Sam Houston State University, is soliciting Statements of Qualifications(“Qualifications”) for the selection of an Architect/Engineer (“A/E”) firm for design of the Active Learning Center project (“Project”) on the Sam Houston State University, Huntsville, Texas campus.

Work Details
The Active Learning Center is envisioned as a hybrid high-bay one-story and two-story structure of 38,732 gross square feet. It will include instructional spaces, student spaces, a lobby/commons area, and a self-serve food and beverage area. The facility will also house the Professional and Academic Center for Excellence (PACE) office suite. The total Construction Cost Limitation for the project is $29,900,000.

Place of Performance
The project will be located at the SHSU Main Campus on the site of existing Academic Building III. Demolition of Academic Building III, including hazardous material abatement, is included in the scope of this project.
