Background
The University of North Texas Libraries is seeking bids from vendors for the digitization of physical newspaper pages. The goal of this contract is to create digital images and metadata from physical newspapers supplied by UNT, adhering to the Library of Congress newspaper imaging standards. This initiative aims to preserve and provide access to historical Texas newspapers.

Work Details
The vendor will be responsible for digitizing 500,000 pages of Texas newspapers in paper format. This includes creating sets of digital images and associated metadata that conform to the technical guidelines outlined in the solicitation document and its appendices. The project requires compliance with specific imaging standards set forth by the Library of Congress for physical page scans.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to be completed by January 2027.

Place of Performance
The digitization work will take place at the vendor's facilities, with physical newspapers supplied by the University of North Texas.
