RFP No.750-25-26-001 Operation and Management of Food Services

Background
The University of Texas at Tyler (UT Tyler) is a public research university located in Tyler, Texas, founded in 1971. It aims to improve educational and healthcare outcomes for East Texas and beyond, offering over ninety undergraduate and graduate programs to more than 10,000 students.

The university seeks a vendor to provide comprehensive operation and management of food services on its campus to support its educational mission and enhance the student experience.

Work Details
The contractor will provide full-service food operations including dining services, retail venues, convenience store operations, meal plans (Board Plan, Catering Plan, Commuter Plan, Conference Plan, Faculty/Staff Plan), and concession operations. Specific responsibilities include:

- Experienced management
- High-quality nutritious food
- Reasonable pricing
- Well-trained personnel
- Convenient service schedules
- Excellent customer service
- Sound operating practices

The contractor must also propose innovative marketing strategies to engage the campus community effectively.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to commence on August 1, 2026, with an initial term of five years and an option for one additional five-year renewal.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed on the main campus of the University of Texas at Tyler located in Tyler, Texas.

Bidder Requirements
Proposers must have a minimum of five years in providing university food & beverage services similar in scope. They should have at least ten current accounts with public universities that have a student population of at least 10,000. Proposers are also required to submit a HUB Subcontracting Plan as part of their proposal.
